How to Make Your Eyebrow Makeup Last Longer
They say eyes are the windows to the soul, but battered up, beat down window frames can deter the observer from looking in… We mean the eyebrows. You get up early to put on your makeup, and your eyebrows can take up most of that time. It can get pretty frustrating when all of that time and effort disappears by lunchtime. So how can we get our eyebrows to stay put? The simple secret to making your eyebrow makeup last the whole day is using the right products. Combine a couple of great long-lasting brow products with a solid eyebrow routine and you won’t have to worry about your eyebrow makeup until you want them to come off.
Make sure your eyebrows are properly shaped before anything else. Cementing them in place with a brow wax is a great start to your routine. It helps you figure out your existing brow shape, and shows you where your brows need a little help. It’ll also give the rest of the products something to grip on to. Something like the Full Brow Brow Wax is a great product that you can use at the start and at the end of your routine, but we’ll get to that part later.
Put down a base color. The best way to add a base color is with an eyebrow powder. It’s a layer of product that will help you shape your brows without really adding any harshness to them. Fill in the sparse part of your brows and add volume to achieve that effortless look. The Lily Lolo Eyebrow Duo gives you brow powder and a highlighting shade to add some dimension and depth.
If you’re pretty experienced doing your brows and really just need a better product, may we suggest the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Pomade. We weren’t going to be able to talk about brows without mentioning this cult product. You get enough time to play around and manipulate it before it dries down matte and refuses to move.
Now that you’ve got your base down, you may wanna add some details to make your brow appear fuller. You can go with a pen, a pencil, or even a gel to achieve that. For pens, we love the K-Palette 1 Day Tattoo Real Lasting Eyebrow Liner. Its skinny pen is perfect for achieving those single hair strands that make your brow look untouched by cosmetics.
Also, it's fine tip means you’ll never have to worry about it dulling. If you’re scared of a felt tip, and prefer something a little less intimidating, a pencil might be better for your arch. Koh Gen Do’s Eyebrow Pencil is nice and light and may require less precision than a pen. It still will deliver a great brow look though.
The last step in this fool-proof routine, you’re going to need something to seal everything in. You can use the same brow wax you used at the top of the routine, or you can use a clear gel, like Anastasia Beverly Hill’s Clear Brow Gel. Just brush a few strokes through your brows and voila! You are done. Your brows are sealed, set, and ready to go.
Just a few reminders before we leave you to live your best brow life, you may choose to follow our routine, or you can always just add some of these tips to your existing routine. Figure out the steps that work for your schedule, whichever steps you choose to incorporate will provide you with great long-lasting brows. Also, do not pile on the product. Use thin layers, and add as you go.
