Brand Story
Launched in 2008, Human Nature is the brainchild of Anna Meloto-Wilk, Dylan Wilk and Camille Meloto. All three were Gawad Kalinga volunteers who were exposed early on to the harsh realities of poverty in the Philippines and now burned with the desire to do more for the country.
Whilst in the US drumming up support for Gawad Kalinga, Anna and Dylan noticed a growing trend of affordable, natural, eco-friendly and ethically-made products entering the mainstream market.
Realizing that a lot of the ingredients used in the products were from tropical plants that grew abundantly in the Philippines, they began in-depth research on natural products together with Anna’s sister Camille.
A year later, the first line of natural products was created, and with the help of some close friends, family and Gawad Kalinga partners, Human Nature was officially launched in November 2008.
Because of its strong commitment to never test on animals, Human Nature earned theCruelty-Free seal of approval from PETA in 2011, the first cosmetics brand in the Philippines to do so.
Today, Human Nature continues to grow rapidly, currently employing hundreds of residents from Gawad Kalinga and other poor communities. Guided by the principles of being PRO-PHILIPPINES, PRO-POOR and PRO-ENVIRONMENT, the company continues to strive to provide prosperity to the Philippines through successful and sustainable social enterprise and quality natural products for all Filipinos.
