Whether you’re spending summer in the city or at your beach hideaway, sometimes you just want to enhance your natural beauty with a little bit of makeup from Beauty Bar. But the full-coverage foundation and a ton of powder products may be a little heavy, and will have you looking cakey by the end of the day. So we’ve searched and scoured for the best makeup items, and we are sharing our tips to help you achieve your perfect summer look!
Tip #1 - Go Back to the Basics
A look that will suit you all year round, this makeup look is exactly what it claims to be: basic, but in the best way.
Celebrate your beautiful skin with One Earth Organics’ Ageless Beauty Color Correcting Cream. The light coverage evens out your skin tone without suffocating your skin. It even has SPF 30 to add an additional layer of protection when you apply it over your specialized sunscreen.
Patting on a bit of Canmake Tokyo’s Cream Cheek in Sweet Apricot will add a nice summer glow to your pretty cheeks. Tap a bit of that onto your lips to ensure that your look is cohesive.
Enhance your summer tan with the Lily Lolo Mineral Bronzer along the perimeter of your face to show off that new tan you got from basking in the sun.
A quick brush of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Mini Clear Brow Gel on those brows and a light brush of K-Palette 1 Day Lash Up Silky Long Mascara will get your eyes to open up and make you seem bright-eyed and bushy tailed - even though you’re melting in the scorching heat.
Tip #2 - Add a Pop of Color
There’s no better time to experiment with color than the summertime! If you’re ready to go out there with guns blazing, why not try the Anastasia Beverly Hills Amrezy Palette! The palette has 12 gorgeous colors that are a combination of shades you can use for everyday and a couple that adds spunk to your look. If you apply a little bit of Leo, the bright blue metallic shade in the palette, on your inner corners, it’ll bring attention to your beautiful eyes.
If blue is a little too bold for you, putting on Barb, a metallic lilac with a lime shift, is a bit more subtle but just as interesting. If eye makeup is not where you want to experiment, the Smashbox Crystalized Gloss Angeles Lip Glosses are great. The high-shine lip glosses hydrate your lips and make your lips look fuller. You can swipe on the shade of choice on its own, or you can layer it over your favorite lip balm or lipstick!
Tip #3 - Wear A Brighter Shade On The Lip
A bright red lip is classic and works all year round - especially when you want to look put together without really having to think about it, but in a different season, a different color might interest you.
The striking shade is beautiful and a change of pace to the neutrals and pinks we usually wear throughout the year, and in a formula that is creamy and soft, there’s no doubt it’ll sit comfortably on your lips throughout the day. If an opaque lippie is intimidating, there are orange lip tints available. The K-Palette Lasting Semi-Matte Lip Tint Stick is a great example! It adds a fresh and fun new twist to your look and who isn’t excited for that?
