"If you had a magic wand, what's the first thing you'd change in the way you look?" Makeup artist Robin Flanagan unfailingly starts a session with a client with this question. As Smashbox Cosmetics' international trainer for Asia Pacific, she came to Manila in March to do what she does best: make practical women feel effortlessly beaut iful. Flanagan's career fell into place when she met Peter Beard in New York. After working as a makeup artist for Saks Fifth Avenue and M.A.C, she moved to San Francisco and joined Benefit Cosmetics, where she learned more about "quick, prac tical makeup for everyday beauty."At around the same time, she started using Smashbox, which she found to be a very "professional and approachable line." And even after she moved to Los Angeles, where working for NBC and E! Entertainment brought her closer to Hollywood celebrit ies, she always returned to her first love, that of finding the best techniques for the everyday woman.
